Speedy Salah 4-1 to match Roma tally

LIVERPOOL supporters will be hoping new signing Mohamed Salah can help to propel them towards the Premier League title but bet365 are not expecting the Egyptian to make the same impact on Merseyside as he did for previous club Roma.

Salah’s two Serie A campaigns at Roma were hugely successful – he scored 14 goals in 2015-16 and 15 in 2016-17 – while in the season which has just finished he was also credited with 11 assists which was second only to Napoli’s Jose Callejon.

However, bet365 are 4-1 that Salah reaches 15 Premier League goals next season with the flying winger 1-6 to fall below that figure. Betfair and Paddy Power are offering 50-1 Salah wins the Premier League Golden Boot.

The speedy Salah operated on the right flank for Roma so it will be interesting to see how manager Jurgen Klopp accommodates him and Sadio Mane, who is 33-1 with bet365 to win the Golden Boot.

For the time being Klopp is just delighted to get a quality player signed up and he told Liverpool’s website: “His pace is incredible, he gives us more attacking threat and we are already strong in this area. I like that we will make it even more competitive.”

Liverpool are generally available at 12-1 to win the Premier League and Betway quote the Reds at 21-20 to make it into the top four next season. Paddy Power rate them 33-1 to win the Champions League.

Salah is unlikely to be the end of Liverpool’s spending and Ladbrokes rate them 4-7 to sign long-time target Virgil van Dijk, who is 15-8 to remain at current club Southampton.

Saints had earlier complained to the Premier League over Liverpool’s advances towards Van Dijk which brought an apology from the Reds, who claimed their interest in the player was over.
