Odds-on for autumn World Cup in Qatar
EUROPE’S elite clubs are set to ask Fifa to play the 2022 World Cup in May but bookmakers are dismissive of anything like a summer finals in Qatar.
Hills are 11-2 the first match is played between May and September of 2022, with the odds-on 4-7 favourite an autumn World Cup which starts in either October or November.
A December 2022 or January 2013 finals is 7-4 and it’s 16-1 the event is staged in January-April 2022.
All bets are void if Qatar loses the tournament. Coral are 6-4 that Qatar gets to keep the World Cup, while USA are 7-4 to replace the controversial hosts.
