Palace backed for return to the Premier League
CRYSTAL PALACE are being well backed for Monday’s Championship play-off final against Watford, according to bookmakers, but Ian Holloway’s men remain the 5-4 outsiders for promotion.
Palace are as big as 12-5 to beat 7-5 favourites Watford in 90 minutes.
The rare occasion of a long-term managerial favourite landing the odds occurred when caretaker Gary Bowyer was confirmed as the new permanent boss of Championship side Blackburn Rovers.
Initially available at a best-priced 10-1, Bowyer headed the market as soon as previous manager Michael Appleton left Ewood Park and he strengthened his case by steering Rovers to safety over the final weeks of the campaign.
