Platini clear favourite for Fifa presidency
MICHEL PLATINI is the clear 4-5 favourite with Ladbrokes to be elected as Fifa’s president after he confirmed that he intends to stand.
Platini was slashed across the board for football’s top job but was criticised for his decision to run by Prince Ali bin al-Hussein, his main rival who is a 3-1 shot with Hills and Paddy Power.
David de Gea is looking increasingly likely to stay at Manchester United for another season, having been long odds-on to leave the club this summer at one point.
He’s 8-13 to be at Old Trafford after the transfer window closes and 6-5 to be at Real Madrid, who may opt to instead sign him for free next season.
Everton have rejected a bid of around £25m from Chelsea for defender John Stones. The Blues are expected to get their man and it’s just 2-5 with Betfair he makes the switch this summer.
Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has moved to Roma on a one-year loan and Chelsea attacker Mohamed Salah is expected to join him on a similar deal. Defender Steven Caulker has joined Southampton on loan from QPR.
