Benitez early favourite to replace Pulis at Potters
RAFA BENITEZ replaced Roberto Di Matteo in the Chelsea hotseat this season and both may be rivals for the Stoke managerial vacancy after Tony Pulis reportedly parted company with the club yesterday.
The Potters are preparing for their sixth successive season of top-flight football but a move for Benitez, who shortened from 20-1 to 4-1 in the early betting, would be viewed as highly ambitious.
Di Matteo was the initial favourite at as short as 6-4 before drifting to 7-1.
Gus Poyet and Mark Hughes are early 12-1 shots while Phil Neville, who has just finished his playing contract at Everton, is available at 14-1.
