Record-breakers City 10-1 for ton again next term

Manchester City have set the record for the most Premier League points in a season and they are 10-1 for back-to-back centuries next season.

Pep Guardiola's men have hit opponents for six this season and they finished the season in style as a late Gabriel Jesus goal took them to the 100-point mark with a 1-0 win at Southampton.

City, who are just 4-6 to successfully defend their title next season, finished 19 points clear of Manchester United to record the largest winning margin by the champions in the Premier League era. Their 16 away wins and their tally of 106 league goals scored are also records.

Bet365 had quoted 33-1 that the Citizens beat the previous biggest margin of 18 points set by United in 1999-2000.

The new champions lost just two league games and they are 40-1 with bet365 to go unbeaten in the 2018-19 campaign.

City's celebrations were in contrast to the mood of Swansea who had their relegation to the Sky Bet Championship confirmed with a 2-1 home defeat by already-relegated Stoke. West Brom are the other side leaving the top flight.

Premier League standings

Tottenham and Liverpool secured the final two Champions League spots.

Harry Kane bagged a brace for Tottenham in their crazy 5-4 farewell game at Wembley but it wasn't enough for him to overhaul Mo Salah in the race for the Golden Boot. The Egyptian scored in the Reds' 4-0 home win over Brighton to take the honours with 32 goals, two ahead of Kane.

Salah had been a 66-1 shot to top the scoring charts at the start of the season.

Chelsea's 3-0 defeat at Newcastle ended any hopes they had of making the top four and boss Antonio Conte is 1-4 with Hills not to be in charge at Stamford Bridge next season.

Everton boss Sam Allardyce is also expected to leave his post. The Toffees finished a respectable eighth but Allardyce is just 1-3 to have left Goodison Park by the start of next season.

Arsene Wenger said his goodbyes to Arsenal with a 1-0 win at Huddersfield and Max Allegri continues to head the betting to replace him.

Coral make Manchester City 7-4 to be Riyad Mahrez's next club. City failed in an attempt to sign the Leicester schemer in January but he is just 11-8 with Sky Bet to make the move this summer and 7-2 to stay at the King Power Stadium.
