Robben strike makes Bayern the champions

ARJEN ROBBEN'S late strike gave Bayern Munch a 2-1 win over German rivals Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final at Wembley.

The Bavarians had been 4-9 to lift the trophy and 4-5 to win inside 90 minutes but they left it late.

After a goalless first half (the 45-minute draw was a 31-10 shot), Bayern went ahead through Mario Mandzukic after an hour - the Croatian had been 5-1 joint-favourite to open the scoring.

Dortmund levelled seven minutes later through a Ilkay Gundogan penalty after Dante's crude challenge on Marco Reus.

However Robben (9-4 to score at any time) bagged the spoils for Bayern and the new champions are Ladbrokes' 9-2 joint-favourites with Barcelona for next season's competition - the firm have BVB as 22-1 shots.

Bet365 spokesman Steve Freeth said a Bayern victory in 90 minutes had cost his firm close to £2.5m and called it a "shocking result".

Ladbrokes make another all-German final next year a 33-1 chance, while they go 2-1 that boss Jurgen Klopp leaves Dortmund this summer. An English winner next season is 11-4, with Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea all individually priced at 11-1 with Ladbrokes.

Bayern were matched at 7-1 in play on Betfair, while over 2.5 goals hit 7.6 in-play on the exchange.
