Ronaldo hit with five-match suspension
CRISTIANO RONALDO has drifted out to 3-1 to win the Spanish Golden Boot after being hit with a five-match suspension following his Super Cup dismissal during Real Madrid’s 3-1 win at Barcelona on Sunday.
Ronaldo, booked first for taking his shirt off following a superb goal and then dismissed for simulation, pushed the referee after the red card was issued.
Real have appealed but if the decision is upheld Ronaldo will miss the Super Cup second leg on Wednesday and the league fixtures against Deportivo La Coruna (away), Valencia (home), Levante (home) and Real Sociedad (away).
Lionel Messi is 6-5 favourite with BoyleSports and his Barca teammate Luis Suarez is generally available at 9-4.
Former Barcelona star Neymar marked his Paris St-Germain debut with a goal in their 3-0 win at Guingamp but Paddy Power still rate the world’s most expensive player 15-8 to finish as the leading scorer in Ligue 1.
Edinson Cavani, who also notched at Guingamp, is 11-10 favourite with Hills and 188Bet.
