Rooney 11-2 to celebrate with a double

WAYNE ROONEY will become England’s latest centurion when he wins his 100th cap against Slovenia and all eyes will be on the skipper to see whether he can celebrate the occasion with a goal at Wembley on Saturday.

Rooney has notched in three of England’s four matches this season and Coral have boosted his price to score to 5-4 (for a maximum £20), while bet365 are next best at 11-10.

Bet365 make Rooney 11-2 to score at least twice – he has not bagged a brace for England since a World Cup qualifer against San
Marino in October 2012 – and the hat-trick is available at 22-1.

It’s looking like a matter of when not if Rooney becomes England’s greatest goalscorer with the Manchester United man on 43 international goals, six behind record holder Sir Bobby Charlton.

He is 9-1 to fall short but Coral are 5-4 he overtakes Charlton before October 13 2015 and bet365 rate Rooney 4-6 to get the record at any stage in 2015.

At 29 there is still plenty of time for Rooney to add more records and as well as Charlton’s landmark there is also the prospect of the forward becoming England’s most capped player which currently belongs to Peter Shilton on 125.

Hills are 1-4 Rooney reaches at least 126 caps and bet365 go 7-2 that he falls short of Shilton.

The Rooney show threatens to overshadow the European Championship qualifier, particularly as England are well on the road to Paris in 2016 following three straight wins to begin the campaign.

Roy Hodgson’s side are 4-7 with bet365 to remain unbeaten in qualifying, 6-1 to win every match and 25-1 not to concede a goal.

The Three Lions defence has not been breached against Switzerland, San Marino and Estonia and in total England are on a run of five straight shutouts.

Boylesports go 4-6 that Slovakia score under 0.5 goals – effectively a bet on England keeping a clean sheet but at a better price than the 8-13 offered in that market.

Joe Hart will fancy his chances of keeping it clean again but at the other end England will have to beat penalty-saving expert Samir Handanovic.

The Slovenian has stopped 19 Serie A penalties and the Inter man is 20-1 with Paddy Power to save one against England.
