Rowett 5-2 to replace Clark at Birmingham
BURTON manager Gary Rowett is Coral’s 5-2 favourite to be the next Birmingham manager after Lee Clark was sacked on Monday.
Clark’s dismissal had been widely expected with Blues sat just outside the Championship relegation zone.
Rowett made 86 appearances for Birmingham during his playing days, has been Burton boss since May 2012 and guided the Brewers to the League Two playoffs last season. He has also done media work for local radio in Birmingham so has a clear affinity with the city.
Next in Coral’s market comes former Bolton and Wigan manager Owen Coyle at 5-1, while recently sacked Leeds gaffer Brian McDermott is a 6-1 shot, as is ex-Norwich boss Chris Hughton.
Hughton is also prominent at 11-8 with Paddy Power in the betting to replace Felix Magath as Fulham manager, although caretaker boss Kit Symons is the firm’s warm 5-6 favourite.
