Skipper Kompany returns for City
MANCHESTER CITY have received a much-needed boost on the injury front after Vincent Kompany was declared fit for Sunday’s Premier League match at home to Tottenham.
Skipper Kompany has not featured since Boxing Day and last started a match on November 8, but City boss Manuel Pellegrini told the club’s official website: “Vincent has worked for three weeks with no problems.
“He played 45 minutes in a friendly game against the Under-21s and I think he’s ready to play.”
David Silva has also recovered from a knock but Pellegrini is without Fabian Delph and Bacary Sagna who join Eliaquim Mangala, Samir Nasri, Jesus Navas, Kevin De Bruyne and Wilfried Bony on the sidelines.
Spurs are without Jan Vertonghen and Clinton N’Jie.
Betway are 4-1 that hotshots Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane score at the Etihad with City and Spurs doing battle two hours after events at the Emirates where Leicester travel to Arsenal.
Bet365, who offer 7-1 the title is decided on goal difference, are also 33-1 leaders Leicester don’t lose another match this season.
Arsenal have no fresh injury concerns and the same is true of Leicester, who are rated favourites by some bookmakers to defy pre-season title odds of 5,000-1.
“I hope the bookmakers are right this time,” said Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri.
