Southgate 10-1 to win Euros or the World Cup
GARETH SOUTHGATE has signed a four-year contract to manage England after winning the race to replace Sam Allardyce.
Qualification for the World Cup is Southgate's immediate priority although failure is almost unthinkable with England just 1-66 with bet365 to be present in Russia and 20-1 to miss out.
Bet365 go 4-6 that England stay unbeaten throughout World Cup qualifying and 10-1 that Southgate wins a World Cup or a European Championship.
One of Southgate's toughest decisions will be to decide on his captain. Wayne Rooney, who was dropped for the October draw away to Slovenia but restored for the victory over Scotland last month, is Betway's 1-2 favourite to wear the armband for England's next game (a March friendly against Germany in Dortmund). Gary Cahill is 5-2 to captain the side against Germany while Jordan Henderson gets a 4-1 quote.
Southgate is 1-8 with Betway to remain at the helm for the start of the 2018 World Cup and 9-2 to have departed by then.
BoyleSports offer 3-1 that he sees out his full four-year contract (2-9 that he doesn't), while Hills quote 16-1 that Southgate leaves before the end of 2017.
