Suarez hat-trick helps Barca win La Liga

BARCELONA justified pre-season ante-post odds of 8-11 favouritism to win La Liga after beating Granada 3-0.

Luis Suarez proved to be decisive player for Barca, notching all three goals to land the Golden Boot in the process and become the first player other than Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi to finish top of La Liga’s scoring charts since Diego Forlan in 2009.

Suarez had been 20-1 to win the Golden Boot ante-post and it was well deserved after he racked up 40 goals in La Liga.

Hull are in full control of their Sky Bet Championship playoff semi-final against Derby after a 3-0 win at Pride Park.

Abel Hernandez and Andy Robertson were on target for the Tigers, while Jason Shackell also scored an own goal.

Edinburgh City have been promoted to Ladbrokes Scottish League Two after a dramatic 1-0 success over East Stirling to win the playoff final 2-1 on aggregate.

Dougie Gair was the Edinburgh hero, scoring a late penalty.

Queen’s Park were promoted to Ladbrokes League One after beating Clyde 3-2 on aggregate.
