Tykes 22-1 for playoffs
after landing Johnson
BARNSLEY yesterday ended their search for a new manager when they snatched Lee Johnson away from League One rivals Oldham.
The Oakwell side parted company with former boss Danny Wilson on February 12, but agreed compensation with the Lancashire outfit to allow the 33-year-old to join on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
The Tykes are nine points below Oldham in the standings but still have an outside chance of qualifying for the playoffs with just four points separating them and Bradford in sixth spot.
Betway and Paddy Power think it unlikely and go 22-1 that Johnson drags his new side into a top-six finish. Bet365 make them 16-1 pokes.
Oldham begin the search for a new manager as 11-2 shots with Coral to make the playoffs. They’re just two points off the Bantams.
Barcelona are just 1-16 with Ladbrokes to qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals after their 2-1 win at Manchester City on Tuesday.
City are 9-1 with Hills to overturn the tie in the second leg at Camp Nou on March 18.
The Greek government has suspended professional football in the country indefinitely following violence at a match between rivals Olympiakos and Panathinaikos last week.
Olympiakos are three points clear at the top of Super League and should still fulfil tonight’s Europa League clash with Dnipro.
The Greek outfit are trailing 2-0 from last week’s first leg and are 18-5 with Boyles to qualify.
