Unlikely heroes pushing for England selection
THERE is a strange look to the Premier League table with 5,000-1 ante-post shots Leicester leading from 150-1 pokes Tottenham and punters are starting to believe England manager Roy Hodgson could yet include some of the unlikely heroes in his Euro 2016 squad.
Danny Drinkwater was 25-1 last month but his excellent performances for Leicester, particularly against Manchester City on Saturday seems to have put him on the radar of many.
Bet365 and Coral cut the midfielder to 3-1 and 4-1 respectively but Sky Bet are still offering 6-1.
A number of firms have also shortened up Tottenham right-back Kieran Trippier with Sky Bet’s 20-1 now way out of line.
He is as short as 6-1 and the next best to 20-1 is 12-1 after scoring the winner for Spurs against Watford on Saturday.
Trippier had to be patient in waiting for his chances following his summer move from Burnley but he has started three of the last four Premier League games ahead of Kyle Walker, who is odds-on in places to be in France this summer.
Gary Neville continues to have major problems in Spain with the Valencia boss still waiting for his first La Liga win following Sunday’s 1-0 loss at Real Betis.
Neville is 1-8 from 1-4 with Betway to leave his Valencia post before Louis van Gaal departs Manchester United. The Dutchman has drifted to 9-2 from 11-4 in the match bet.
