Van Gaal's United finally click into top gear
AFTER three winless Premier League matches and the indignity of being dumped out of the Capital One Cup by League One MK Dons, the Louis van Gaal era at Manchester United was finally kick-started with a 4-0 victory over QPR.
Goals from Angel Di Maria, Ander Herrera, Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata were enough for their first win of the season and Van Gaal even had the luxury of introducing former Monaco striker Radamel Falcao as a second-half substitute.
United, who missed out on qualification for this season’s Champions League, are 4-6 with bet365 to claim a top-four finish and were cut from 14-1 to 9-1 for the title.
QPR, who have lost three of their four league matches, are 6-4 to immediately return to the Championship.
