Wenger 7-4 for FA Cup final swansong
ARSENE WENGER was announced as Arsenal manager on September 22 1996 but could Saturday's FA Cup final be his last match in charge of the Gunners?
Wenger has still not announced whether he will sign a new contract at the Emirates and Coral rate the Frenchman 7-4 to depart Arsenal before the start of next season.
He is 2-5 to remain in north London and Wenger has previously stated he won’t be retiring even if this is to be his Arsenal swansong.
Sky Bet are 7-2 that Wenger does not have a managerial position by the end of August and he is 14-1 to be calling the shots at Paris St-Germain, while a switch to China is 20-1.
Victory in the FA Cup – a 9-4 poke – would cheer Wenger up after missing out on Champions League qualification but it is Chelsea who are 2-5 favourites to complete a domestic double.
Chelsea had been 40-1 ante-post to win the Premier League and FA Cup double but Antonio Conte was trying to play down their favouritism tag.
“We could start as underdogs because we won the league and celebrated,” claimed Conte. “It was right to enjoy the moment, but we face a team who lost the opportunity to play in the Champions League and this is a chance to save their season.”
Chelsea have been pushed out to 100-30 by Sky Bet to win next season’s Premier League with Manchester City cut to 2-1 after Pep Guardiola’s side reportedly agreed a deal to sign Bernardo Silva.
The Monaco playmaker has been outstanding this season and Betway also cut City to 9-4 from 5-2 with Betfair best on Guardiola’s team at 23-10.
Arsenal are in the unusual position of being sixth favourites at 14-1 and the Wembley showdown with Chelsea may be the last time we see Alexis Sanchez in a Gunners shirt.
Sanchez is 1-2 with Ladbrokes to leave Arsenal this summer and 11-4 with Sky Bet to stay.
