Wenger odds-on for exit after Munich mauling

Arsene Wenger has been Arsenal's manager since October 1996 but he is odds-on to leave the Gunners before the start of next season after their Champions League humiliation at Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

The 5-1 defeat left Wenger visibly shaken by the manner of the Munich mauling with some bookmakers offering prices as short as 4-7 about a change of manager before the 2017-18 campaign.

Hills went evens for a managerial change immediately after the last-16 first-leg thrashing but that price soon evaporated and Coral are now best at 5-6 that time is finally called on Wenger's long reign.

It's 11-8 with Betway that Wenger is still the manager for the start of next term and Hills go 12-1 that the Frenchman is the next Premier League manager to lose his job this season.

Attention has turned to Wenger's successor and Coral prefer the chances of Max Allegri as their 4-1 market leader, while Hills have 6-1 co-favourites with the Juventus manager alongside Eddie Howe and Borussia Dortmund's Thomas Tuchel.

Barring the FA Cup - the Gunners are available at 9-2 to claim the trophy for the third time in four years - this looks another lost season for Arsenal, who are 33-1 with Paddy Power to overturn the 5-1 deficit against Bayern at the Emirates on March 7.

Arsenal are 5-6 with Betfair and Sky Bet not to finish in the top four and bet365 offer evens that Wenger rallies his troops to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Next up for Arsenal is a trip to non-league Sutton in the FA Cup fifth round on Monday.

The National League outfit, who beat Sky Bet Championship side Leeds in the last round, are 18-1 to cause a humiliating upset.
