World champs Germany made to work by Saudis

CROATIA beat Senegal 2-1 in Friday’s friendly clash between two sides heading to Russia but Germany made hard work of beating Saudi Arabia 2-1.

Joachim Low’s men had been 1-14 for victory but struggled to build on Timo Werner’s opener in the eighth minute. The striker is 16-1 to be the top goalscorer at the World Cup and 2-1 favourite to top the scoring charts for 5-1 shots Germany.

Argentina, 10-1 to lift the trophy, have replaced the injured Manuel Lanzini with experienced midfielder Enzo Perez.

Huddersfield have broken their transfer record to sign Monaco defender Terence Kongolo, who made 13 appearances on loan for the Terriers last season.

Huddersfield are 5-4 to be relegated next term and 10-1 with Sky Bet to finish in the top half of the Premier League.
