Leeds United beaten at home by ten-man Wigan
Leeds blew a golden chance to stay in the Sky Bet Championship automatic promotion spots with a 2-1 defeat at home to a Wigan side who were reduced to ten men after 14 minutes with the dismissal of Cedric Kipre.
Patrick Bamford put Marcelo Bielsa's boys in front shortly afterwards and it should have been a formality for Leeds. Gavin Massey equalised, however, and then scored a second to ease Wigan's relegation fears.
Leeds are down to third, behind leaders Norwich and second-placed Sheffield United with three matches remaining.
United beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 and their goal difference is six better than Leeds's. The Blades are away to Hull, home to Ipswich and finish at Stoke with Leeds at Brentford, home to Aston Villa and at Ipswich on the final day.
Middlesbrough moved into the final playoff spot thanks to a 1-0 win over Stoke as Bristol City and Derby dropped costly points in draws against Reading and Birmingham respectively.
Bolton were relegated following a 2-0 defeat to red-hot Aston Villa.
The cash-strapped Trotters had been only 11-8 to go down at the start of the season, while Bradford, 7-1 for relegation ante-post, were demoted from League One.
