Reds 8-13 for title after Salah brace sinks Eagles

Liverpool were grateful to their fearsome forwards as they extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table with a thrilling 4-3 home win over Crystal Palace.

Mo Salah's brace, along with goals from Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, secured three points for the 1-5 favourites but it was an uncomfortable afternoon for the hosts at Anfield as Andros Townsend gave Palace the lead and James Milner was sent off late on.

The victory leaves Liverpool seven points clear of Manchester City, who travel to Huddersfield on Sunday, and 8-13 favourites to win the league.

With Golden Boot rival Harry Kane sidelined by injury, Salah is 5-6 to retain his goalscoring crown.

Liverpool's win was the second 4-3 of the day in the top flight as Wolves beat Leicester in a seven-goal cracker at Molineux. Diogo Jota, a 17-2 shot to score first, gave Wolves a fourth-minute lead before completing his hat-trick with the injury-time winner.

Hills cut Leicester boss Claude Puel to 1-6 to be the next top-flight manager to leave his position. It's 8-1 that no more managers lose their jobs before the end of the Premier League season.

Manchester United made it seven wins in a row in all competitions under interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford goals gave them a 2-1 home win over Brighton.

Arsenal's 2-0 win over Chelsea drags the Gunners into the scrap for the top four. Four points separate third-placed Tottenham, who travel to Fulham on Sunday, Chelsea, Arsenal and United. 

Newcastle claimed an important win at the bottom of the table, beating relegation rivals Cardiff 3-0. The Magpies are out to 7-2 for the drop with the Bluebirds 4-9 third-favourites behind Huddersfield (1-20) and Fulham (2-5).

Burnley are out to 6-4 to be relegated after their goalless draw at Watford while there were home wins for Bournemouth (2-0 against West Ham) and Southampton (2-1 against Everton).
