Manchester City can go top with win at Everton
Manchester City replaced Liverpool at the head of the Premier League betting on Monday and they are 3-10 favourites to take over at the top of the table by beating Everton at Goodison on Wednesday.
Liverpool are hoping their Merseyside rivals can do them a favour but Everton have lost six of their last nine league games and are as big as 10-1 for an upset victory.
Man City are 10-11 to retain their title with challengers Liverpool and Tottenham 23-20 and 18-1.
Everton's ambition is to break up into the Premier League's elite group but they haven't beaten a big-six side in 25 attempts with six draws and 19 defeats dating back to a 4-0 victory over City on Merseyside in January 2017.
The Toffees slipped to ninth place with a 3-1 loss at home to Wolves on Saturday and the pressure is building on their boss Marco Silva, who is 5-2 with Paddy Power to be the next top-flight manager to lose his job.
The same firm are betting on the next Everton manager and make David Wagner the 7-2 favourite. Mikel Arteta, Eddie Howe and David Moyes are prominent in the betting at 9-2, 5-1 and 6-1.
City will finish off the week by taking on fourth-placed Chelsea at the Etihad on Sunday.
The Blues have a free week to prepare but they have been rocked by comments from their star player Eden Hazard, who claims to have made a decision on his future amid intense speculation over a summer move to Real Madrid.
The Belgian's contract with Chelsea will expire at the end of next season.
