Mo Salah downs Brighton with a penalty
On a day of tight contests in the Premier League, there were valuable victories for leaders Liverpool and Burnley, who defeated relegation rivals Fulham 2-1 thanks to two own goals from the Cottagers.
Liverpool, who lost their unbeaten record against champions Manchester City last time out, were as short as 2-7 to win at Brighton but needed a Mohamed Salah penalty to bag the points.
With City playing Wolves on Monday night, Liverpool are seven points clear at the top and are 8-11 for the title with the Citizens 7-5 and Tottenham 25-1.
Fulham are 2-5 to be relegated after their loss at Turf Moor while Cardiff are 4-7 for the drop following a goalless draw at home to bottom club Huddersfield.
There were some big-priced winners in the top flight as 17-5 shots Southampton won 2-1 at Leicester, West Ham (13-5) beat Arsenal 1-0 thanks to a Declan Rice strike, and 5-2 Watford defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park.
And 1-4 favourites Chelsea were made to work hard for a 2-1 home win over Newcastle.
