Premier League hasn't had a draw for a month

It is exactly one month since the Premier League saw its last draw - a stalemate between Brighton and Cardiff tonight can be backed at 23-10 with most bookmakers.

The last time two teams shared the spoils in the top flight was 33 matches ago on March 16 when Matt Ritchie's added-time goal salvaged a point for Newcastle in a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth.

There have been 58 draws in 335 Premier League matches this season, meaning just 17 per cent of matches have finished level compared to 29 per cent in the Sky Bet Championship and 26 per cent in both Sky Bet League One and Sky Bet League Two.

Of those 58 draws, 19 ended goalless, 26 finished 1-1, 12 were 2-2 and a 3-3 game between Watford and Bournemouth when all the goals came in the first half.

This is not the first time there has been a draw drought in the Premier League this term.

In November, Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "We are averaging a draw every five games, or two a weekend.

"Last season there were 94 draws in 380 games, just over a draw every four games - a big difference across the season."

The Bluebirds are 1-20 for relegation to the Sky Bet Championship going into their trip to the Amex, with hosts Brighton next in the market at 12-1 following their 5-0 hammering by Bournemouth on Saturday.
