United 8-11 to be best of the rest behind Man City
MANCHESTER UNITED claimed a 2-1 success at West Brom on Sunday, but any chance of them clawing their way back into the Premier League title race is being regarded by bookmakers as a forlorn hope.
Goals from Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard gave Jose Mourinho’s side their eighth away win of the season but they are still 11 points behind runaway leaders Manchester City.
More than half the season remains but City are 1-33 to claim the title and bet365 offer just 6-4 that Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering team can eclipse the record 18-point margin United posted on their way to the title in the 1999-2000 season.
City are 5-1 to go through the entire season unbeaten and are 100-1 to win all their remaining games.
United are 8-11 in betting without City with Betfred, while Chelsea, who sit three points behind the Red Devils, are 15-8.
Liverpool are 6-1 in that market as they moved back into the top four with a 4-0 win at Bournemouth.
In Scotland, Celtic’s run of 69 domestic matches unbeaten was ended in emphatic style as Brendan Rodgers’ side were thumped 4-0 at Hearts.
