Who else is going to score in the big game?

TODAY'S Premier League showdown at the Etihad Stadium is one of those where we need the commentators to make something clear before the game.

As the players of Manchester City and Chelsea are shaking hands, we need to hear from the box exactly who they are nominating as their inevitable scorers in the match.

There are so many candidates for the "Who else?" after a goal goes in that we need them to pin their colours to the mast. Otherwise it will be open season:

"City go ahead and who else could it be but Frank Lampard against his former club?"

Fair enough, but you then are disqualified from having: "Chelsea are level, and who else could it be but Diego Costa?"

"It's 2-1 to City through Sergio Aguero - who else?"

"2-2 from a corner and who else could it be but John Terry?"

"Now 3-2 to City and who else but Scott Sinclair against his former club?"

Once in a while I'd love to hear "It's 1-0 to Chelsea through Willian. I had no idea that was going to happen as he doesn't score that often and never played for the other club."

But anyway that won't happen because Chelsea will actually win 1-0 through Diego Costa (who else?).

Wigan v Ipswich

Home Win Draw Away Win
Key stats
  • Wigan have won their last four league and cup games against Ipswich
Expert verdict
Wigan’s campaign has started slowly, but they are unbeaten at home – albeit their two wins have come against modest opposition in Blackpool and Birmingham. Ipswich have slowly started to improve after a mini-dip but may have to wait longer for their first away win.
