England unlikely to have learnt any new tricks

WHAT happened to Roy Mr Nice Guy Hodgson?

Hodgson turned nasty after being questioned about England's two shots on target in the 1-0 win over Norway when he got slightly confused:

"Don't hit me with statistics," said Hodgson. "When we had that much possession, and you talk about two shots on target? What about all the shots they threw themselves in front of?"

So does Roy want to talk about statistics or not? I'm struggling to work it out and it's pretty clear Hodgson is struggling to work out the best way for England to play although it won't matter with 24 teams qualifying for the European Championship.

Monday's match in Switzerland represents the toughest task for England but let's face it even if the Three Lions fall to defeat it won't matter a jot with regards to them making it to the tournament proper, which is probably just as well with Daniel Sturridge ruled out.

I'm backing Switzerland and still to decide whether to watch the match or tune in to New Tricks instead.

Never mind new tricks, it's a new boss we need.
