I expect England to batter Baltic battlers
ONE of Lithuania’s strikers was last spotted failing to make an impact at Conference side Nuneaton, so I will be an angry man if England concede in this Euro 2016 qualifying match.
Yes, I know the England defence is nothing special.
Why did we have about 12 decent centre-backs a few years ago and now we’ve got none?
That’s nothing to do with the rubbish British weather, or whatever we’re blaming for the failings of the England squad these days.
But even though Gary Cahill and Phil Jagielka won’t strike fear into the heart of many players, one of the few sights in international football less formidable than them is the Lithuania attack.
Those nasty bookmakers won’t let me put England to win to nil in a double with a bet on the Three Lions keeping a clean sheet.
It’s outrageous. This is the biggest scandal since they stopped me having a treble on Messi to score, Messi to score two or more and Messi to score a hat-trick.
So I’m pairing the first of those bets with Panama to beat Trinidad & Tobago.
I’ll be mad as a hatter if the Panamanians bottle it.
