I may be losing it, but I still can't tip Tottenham
Another Thursday, another Europa League night.
Now don’t get me wrong. This Europa season has been a belter with plenty of big ties. Manchester United v Liverpool is always a blinder no matter what shape their respective squads are in and Tottenham looked in with a chance of winning the thing until they folded like a deckchair in Dortmund.
But I’m starting to tire just watching it from the comfort of my sofa, so I can’t begin to imagine how the players must feel.
At least the TV companies have spared us from the stamina-sapping back-to-back 6pm and 8.05pm matches by putting both the all-English clash and Spurs v Dortmund on at the same time.
Actually, what am I saying? What are they doing? I’d take live football over Hollyoaks or Eggheads any day.
I must be losing it in my old age, but not enough to tip a Tottenham revival. Pochettino’s boys will be firmly concentrating on the league and I fully expect Dortmund to get the win at White Hart Lane.
