Birthday boy Ferguson 3-1 to retire in 2013

BIRTHDAY boy Sir Alex Ferguson is 71 on New Year's Eve but the Manchester United manager has shown no sign of losing his hunger and determination to succeed.

However, Betfred are betting on when Ferguson decides to leave Old Trafford with 2014 the 2-1 favourite and it’s 3-1 he departs in 2013, with the veteran Scot 14-1 to continue until at least 2017.

United will head into 2013 with a seven-point advantage at the Premier League summit and bookmakers rate them 2-5 to win the title this season.
