De Boer new favourite for Southampton job

Early favourite Thomas Tuchel has reportedly ruled himself out of the running to become Southampton's next manager with Frank de Boer now seen as the man most likely to replace the sacked Claude Puel at St Mary's.

Tuchel, who won the German Cup with Borussia Dortmund in May before being dismissed from his post with the Bundesliga giants, had been odds-on in places and best at 5-4 with Paddy Power but has drifted out to 14-1.

The out-of-work De Boer is the new favourite at 5-2 from 9-1, while Julian Nagelsmann, who did a superb job in leading Hoffenheim to the Champions League in the domestic season which has just finished, is available at 12-1.

Mauricio Pellegrino departed Alaves at the end of the Spanish campaign and can be backed at 8-1, although bookmakers believe he is more likely to end up at Crystal Palace and Reading's Jaap Stam is 20-1.

Leganes v Real Madrid

Key stats
  • La Liga games at Leganes average just 1.9 goals per game this season
Expert verdict
Despite their domestic struggles, Real Madrid have only lost one match away from home in La Liga this season and they should have too much for city rivals Leganes. The hosts knocked Los Blancos out of the Copa del Rey recently, which should spur Zinedine's Zidane's team into wanting revenge, but they might not destroy a team who have only conceded nine goals at Butarque.
