Hooper brace helps Celtic to domestic double
SPL champions Celtic claimed a domestic double after adding the William Hill Scottish Cup to their trophy cabinet thanks to a comfortable 3-0 success over Hibernian at Hampden Park
Huge underdogs Hibs started brightly but the result was never in doubt from the moment Gary Hooper broke the deadlock after eight minutes.
Hooped then doubled Celtic’s advantage before the half-time interval and those who lumped on the Bhoys to do the business at 2-5 were rarely made to sweat.
Joe Ledley sealed the win in the second half and Hibernian’s long wait for Scottish Cup success - they last tasted victory in the competition in 1902 - will have to go on for another year at least.
