Impressive City slashed for title after Bridge win

MANCHESTER CITY laid down a serious Premier League title marker with a thoroughly deserved 1-0 success over champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Bookmakers reacted by slashing City for the title with Pep Guardiola's men 8-11 to be crowned champions with Paddy Power and Betfair, while Chelsea are out to 6-1 to retain the crown.

Kevin De Bruyne's sweetly struck second-half shot was all that separated the teams but it was a dominant display from the visitors who deserved to win by a greater margin.

Ryan Giggs takes charge for the first time as Wales manager when they face the hosts in the China Cup and the Manchester United legend will be delighted to have the services of talisman Gareth Bale. His presence is a huge boost for Giggs in his bid to get off to a winning start and his team should be able to secure a victory.
