Kane is the England hero with late winner
Harry Kane came to England's rescue in Volgograd as the Three Lions captain grabbed a late winner for a 2-1 victory against Tunisia.
Kane had given Gareth Southgate's side a dream start with an 11th-minute opener, to the delight of punters who backed England down to 9-20 favouritism before kick-off.
But Kyle Walker was penalised for a foul on Fakhreddine Ben Youssef when it appeared the Tunisian striker ran into the Manchester City defender's arm and Ferjani Sassi netted the resulting spot-kick.
England had two excellent appeals for penalties turned down and it looked as if the Three Lions would have to be content with a 1-1 draw.
But Kane was on hand to convert a Harry Maguire header at the far post to give England three precious Group G points.
Southgate's side are 2-11 to win their next game against Panama on Sunday in Nizhny Novgorod and are 1-40 to qualify for the last 16.
The Panamanians were beaten 3-0 by Belgium and Sweden beat South Korea 1-0, so this was the first day in Russia that all the favourites claimed three points.
