Kante 1-5 to claim player of the year honours

CHELSEA are 9-4 to win the FA Cup for the eighth time in their history after N’Golo Kante’s second-half goal sealed a 1-0 victory at home to Manchester United in Monday’s FA Cup quarter-final.

The Blues have been drawn to face Tottenham in the semi-finals and are a best-priced 8-13 to go through and 5-4 not to.

Manchester City and Arsenal lock horns in the other last four clash. City are 4-7 to progress while the Gunners are 5-4.

Chelsea and City are 9-4 FA Cup joint-favourites, while Spurs and Arsenal are 7-2 and 9-2 respectively.

Kante’s goal against United was just his second in 30 appearances for the club but his influence on the team has been massive and is likely to be recognised on PFA awards night next month.

Kante is 1-5 with Betway to be named PFA player of the year while Eden Hazard is the 6-1 second favourite.

Nottingham Forest and Derby will both be under new leadership for Saturday’s East Midlands derby after Forest confirmed Mark Warburton as their new manager.

Warburton, snapped up on a two-and-a-half-year deal, inherits a Forest side placed just two points above the drop zone.

But he is up against a Derby side eager to impress new manager Gary Rowett, who has signed on with the Rams until May 2019.

  • Shrewsbury won just one of their last six league games
Expert verdict
Shrewsbury mixed it with Wigan and Blackburn before eventually falling away in the battle for automatic promotion but they face a tough task in denying Rotherham an immediate return to the Championship. The Millers finished the season in fine form and were dominant as they ran out 4-2 aggregate winners against Scunthorpe to book their place at Wembley. Shrewsbury were dogged and determined as they beat Charlton but Paul Warne’s team defeated the Shrews 1-0 at New Meadow in February and the result was merited.
