Liverpool big favourites for Wembley glory
Liverpool will face Cardiff in the Carling Cup final at Wembley after drawing 2-2 with Manchester City in in their semi-final second leg at Anfield, and the Reds are just 1-6 with Ladbrokes to lift the trophy.
City took the lead after 31 minutes thanks to a sensational strike from Nigel de Jong, but their lead was short lived as the Reds equalised just before half-time with a Steven Gerrard penalty, which was good news for some Blue Square punters as the firm were paying out first-goalscorer odds on both the first and second goals.
Edin Dzeko restored City’s lead against the run of play after the
break, but Craig Bellamy scored minutes later to give Liverpool a 3-2 victory on aggregate.
Barcelona drew 2-2 with Real Madrid in their Copa del Rey quarter-final second leg, winning 4-3 on aggregate.
Real manager Jose Mourinho is 1-2 with bet365 not to be in charge at the Bernabeu next season and it is 1-3 that his next
permanent job is in England.
