Silva sacked by Watford after poor run
Watford have sacked Marco Silva following Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Leicester despite sitting tenth in a congested Premier League table and three former Manchester City managers head the running to move into the Vicarage Road hotseat.
Sky Bet rate Manuel Pellegrini as their 6-1 favourite from 8-1 shot Roberto Mancini in a wide-open heat. Mark Hughes is only 3-1 with Coral in a messy early market which will need time to settle down.
The decision to sack Silva came as a surprise to bookmakers with the former Hull coach still odds-against with layers to be the next Premier League manager to leave his current position when the announcement was made.
However, Watford have lost eight and drawn two of their last 11 league encounters, a run which coincided with interest in Silva from Everton.
Watford are five points off the relegation spots and can be backed at 11-1 with Betway to go down.
