Mainz can cause shock at out-of-sorts Schalke

Schalke look a dodgy proposition as odds-on favourites in this one and I am taking Mainz to cause a shock in the German Cup.

Make no mistake, the Germans take the competition very seriously. We only have two domestic competitions so it's a big chance to win a trophy, but at the moment Schalke don't look in any sort of shape to go far given they sacked Huub Stevens at the weekend.

They get up for the Champions League but have been poor in the Bundesliga and getting rid of Stevens was sadly inevitable given the results and the fact Mainz manager Thomas Suchel has been linked with a summer switch to Schalke adds further spice to the occasion.

At the prices, take a chance on Suchel showing Schalke exactly what sort of qualities they would be getting.
