Vardy charged by the Football Association
JAMIE VARDY faces the prospect of an extension to his one-match ban after being charged by the Football Association with improper conduct following his red card in Sunday’s dramatic 2-2 draw against West Ham.
The England striker is suspended for Sunday’s clash against Swansea after his dismissal against the Hammers and may also miss the trip to Manchester United if found guilty.
Vardy has scored 22 Premier League goals this season and has started every Premier League match for the leaders as they have risen up to the top of the table to defy ante-post odds of 5,000-1.
A ban would be a blow for anyone on Vardy, who was 500-1 ante-post, to win the Golden Boot.
Leicester still hold a comfortable lead at the top of the table but if they need evidence of how quickly things can go wrong then they need only look at La Liga front runners Barcelona.
The Catalans were 1-100 before a defeat to Real Madrid and they have since also lost to Sociedad and Valencia to see their lead evaporate with Atletico Madrid tied at the top, while Real are one point off the Spanish summit.
Barca still hold the head-to-head advantage over Atletico and are 4-7 to win the title, while Atletico and Real can be backed at 7-2 and 5-1 respectively with five fixtures remaining.
Bet365 are offering a market on how many points are needed to survive the Premier League relegation dogfight this season and they quote 8-11 the team eventually finishing 18th collects no more than 34 points. It’s evens for 35 or more.
