Leipzig set for safe passage into last eight
RB Leipzig v Tottenham
BT Sport 2, 8pm Tuesday
Leipzig to win 3-1
Timo Werner’s goal was the difference in the first leg and RB Leipzig can make the most of that advantage by easing their way into the quarter-finals.
Leipzig have been formidable at the Red Bull Area and enter this second-leg tie on an 11-game unbeaten run at home. They have kept just two clean sheets across that same period, however, and Tottenham will take confidence from that in their search of a vital away goal.
However, Spurs’ injuries continue to mount, particularly in attack.
With Son Heung-min sidelined with a broken arm, Harry Kane still weeks away from a return and January signing Steven Bergwijn limping off at the weekend, goals could be in short supply for Spurs.
With doubts over Tottenham going forward, look for high-scoring Leipzig, who have scored 31 goals in their last ten home games, to wrap up the tie in style.
