Focused Blues can dump Reds out of the FA Cup
BBC1, 7.45pm Monday
Jurgen Klopp threw in the towel in the League Cup by playing the kids and will make FA Cup changes for the trip to Stamford Bridge, and that gives Chelsea a glorious chance of toppling the champions-elect.
Klopp’s targets are two-fold – securing Liverpool’s first Premier League crown in a generation and overcoming Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
With those aspirations in mind he will chop and change his side for this fifth-round tie, though it will boast more experience than the team which overcame Shrewsbury with the likes of Joel Matip, Adam Lallana and Divock Origi set to be involved.
Frank Lampard has to be delighted at the timing of this tie and, given his love for a competition he won four times as a player, we can expect a full-strength side giving their all.
These clubs have met twice this year but they drew in the Super Cup while Chelsea were far the better team in a 2-1 defeat in the league in September.
