Ruthless City unlikely to let up on Wednesday trip

Man City to win and over 2.5 goals
Manchester City have secured part one of a potential knockout treble by winning the EFL Cup on Sunday and won’t let up at Hillsborough against Sheffield Wednesday in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
What was noticeable about City’s 4-0 drubbing of Fulham in the previous round was that Pep Guardiola deployed a seriously strong side with a front three of Phil Foden, Gabriel Jesus and Riyad Mahrez a match for most.
There’s a Manchester derby coming up but Guardiola is a trophy hunter and won’t treat this assignment with anything other than total focus.
They are coming up against a Wednesday side who are notionally Championship challengers, though if they continue their current form of one win in eight they are going to wind up nearer the bottom three than top six.
City have won each of their last ten cup ties against lower-league opponents and are likely to make this look routine.
