Weary Wolves may be running out of steam

BT Sport 2, 7.45pm Wednesday

There was little to choose between these two in the first effort at Molineux and this FA Cup third-round replay at Old Trafford could be equally as tight.

Both sides hit the woodwork during the course of their 0-0 draw but United finished without recording a shot on target as their miserable run against Wolves continued.

The Red Devils haven’t beaten Wanderers in five attempts in all competitions but this looks a great opportunity to improve that statistic.

United will be buoyed by their thumping 4-0 win over Norwich at the weekend and despite a trip to Liverpool looming large, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may be tempted to name a strong side in an attempt to build confidence after three games without success.

This will be Wolves’ 38th fixture of the season and a run of four games without victory suggests the punishing slog is starting to catch up with them and it may pay to back United edging a tight contest.

Chelsea v Tottenham

Home WinDrawAway Win
Key stats
  • Chelsea have won only five of their 13 home league games this season
Expert verdict
Away from home Tottenham have lost just two of their seven Premier League games under Jose Mourinho and Chelsea have won only one of their last five matches after Monday's home defeat by Manchester United. Spurs went down to Leipzig in the Champions League on Wednesday, but they look a value bet for this contest.
