Goals likely in Salzburg with progress at stake

BT Sport 3, 5.55pm Tuesday

Liverpool need a point from their final group game to ensure they progress into the last 16, but RB Salzburg are snapping at their heels knowing a victory could also still see them qualify.

It was raining goals when the teams met at Anfield in October, with Jurgen Klopp’s side edging it 4-3, and a similarly entertaining game could play out in the reverse fixture.

Salzburg’s matches have been full of goals all season, particularly at home where their last 12 games have seen 71 goals scored.

Much of the Salzburg’s success in front of goal has come by way of teenage sensation Erling Braut Haland, who has found the net 28 times in 21 games, and he may create chances against a Liverpool defence who have kept only two cleans sheets in their last 15 matches.

Liverpool, however, have illustrated how tough they are to beat and can show their class in another exciting encounter.

Best bet
Liverpool to win and both teams to score

Expert verdict
West Brom have lost just two games this season and they should be too strong for Stoke at the Hawthorns. The Baggies are top following Leeds’ defeat to Sheffield Wednesday and they can cement their place in pole position against a side who have won just one of their last five away league fixtures.
