Fired-up Dragons look set to roar to Euros spot
The equation facing Wales if they are to secure Euro 2020 qualification couldn’t be simpler – beat Hungary and they are in.
Wales set up Tuesday’s winner-takes-all encounter with a comfortable 2-0 success in Azerbaijan on Saturday night as they gained the ascendancy early and maintained their dominance until the end.
Such was the Dragons’ superiority in Baku that manager Ryan Giggs was able to take star man Gareth Bale off after an hour and give Aaron Ramsey 30 minutes from the bench after injury which should ensure both are in top shape for this test.
A draw will probably not be enough for either side with Slovakia able to leapfrog both with victory over Azerbaijan which should entice both sides to get on the front foot in search of a decisive strike.
Wales were unfortunate to succumb to a late goal in June’s reverse fixture having wasted numerous chances themselves but should not make the same mistake in Cardiff.
