Welsh Dragons should have too much firepower
An 84th-minute header from Gareth Bale earned Wales a crucial win over Azerbaijan when the sides met in September and the Dragons could grind out another narrow victory in Baku.
Talisman Bale has been included in the squad by Ryan Giggs despite nursing a calf injury but, even if he does not feature, Wales have a key player back in the side in Aaron Ramsey.
The Juventus midfielder has recovered from a thigh problem and can act as the main creative outlet for an exciting attack which also features Harry Wilson and Daniel James.
Chris Mepham’s return is also key for Wales who have been solid away from home, taking a point off Slovakia after losing 1-0 to a Hungary outfit they had contained for 80 minutes.
Of their Group E opponents, Azerbaijan are the weakest in front of goal and at the back, scoring only five goals and shipping 14, and Wales should have the attacking ability to take the spoils.
