Bantams send Arsenal crashing in huge upset
BRADFORD caused a massive upset after beating Arsenal 3-2 on penalties to progress through to the Capital One Cup semi-finals.
The League Two Bantams, who came close to beating the Premier League outfit in normal time before a late Thomas Vermaelen equaliser sent the game beyond 90 minutes, are still 33-1 with Ladbrokes to go all the way and lift the trophy.
Vermaelen, Marouane Chamakh and Santi Cazorla all fluffed their lines in the spot-kick drama and bet365 reacted by quoting the Gunners at 7-1 to end their trophy drought this season and 1-14 to once again finish the campaign without success.
Hills are 4-6 that Wenger never wins another trophy as Arsenal manager and 11-10 he can bring some joy to the Emirates, while the same firm rate the Frenchman 7-2 to have departed the club before the end of this season.
Aston Villa are 4-1 with bet365 to win the League Cup following their excellent 4-1 triumph at Norwich, while in the Premier League Sunderland eased their relegation fears and pushed Reading further into the mire with a 3-0 victory at the Stadium of Light.
A first-half blitz was the catalyst for the victory - James McClean and Steven Fletcher were on target inside 30 minutes - and Stephane Sessegnon added a late third as Sunderland were eased to 4-1 by Coral and Ladbrokes for the drop with Reading now at 1-4 with Blue Square Bet.
