Benteke 40-1 for Premier League Golden Boot

CHRISTIAN BENTEKE is 40-1 to finish as the leading goalscorer in this season’s Premier League as he closes in on a move to Crystal Palace from Liverpool.

The Belgian forward is having a medical at Palace and assuming there are no issues he will make his debut at home to Blackpool in the League Cup second round on Tuesday.

Benteke struggled for minutes at Liverpool, scoring nine Premier League goals in 29 top-flight outings last season but he was a regular source of goals for previous club Aston Villa.
In the 2012-13 season he scored 19 times before tallies of ten and 13 in the two following campaigns before the move to Merseyside.

Benteke will come in for a similar fee to that which Everton paid for Palace’s Yannick Bolasie. Spread punters should note that Bolasie’s departure means Andros Townsend has switched to the number ten shirt.

As Benteke’s future nears to a conclusion doubt remains over Joe Hart’s long-term career at Manchester City after Pep Guardiola said that England’s keeper is free to leave the Etihad.
