United finally look ready to ease relegation fears!
All eyes are on Old Trafford for Sunday's relegation six-pointer between Manchester United and QPR.
Alright, I'm being a bit flippant – QPR should have enough quality to stay up – but it'll be fascinating to see how United's array of new stars fit into the team.
Louis van Gaal has got a ridiculous amount of grief for claiming that Danny Welbeck isn't as good as Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Radamel Falcao but only a victory will ease the pressure on the Dutch coach.
With bargain buy Angel di Maria also available, United's attacking formation could be a case of all bar Juan, with no place for poor old Mata in the line-up.
Further back, Daley Blind, Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo are jostling for starts – although van Gaal could surprise us all by opting for a bold triple left-back policy.
Falcao is probably the most interesting signing, though. The United gaffer has heaped the pressure on the Colombian forward with his thrilling revelation earlier this week that “in the training session, he got one ball and it was in the goal.”
Never mind that the goalkeeper was Anderson wearing a blindfold – that's exciting news in anyone's book.
I'm banking on this being the day that United click although I still don't fancy their defence much. When Phil Jones's absence is seen as a major blow, you know the rest of your defenders aren't great.
Even so, I'm splitting stakes between a 3-1 and a 4-1 home win to ease the Red Devils' relegation fears.
