Blues look in the mood to extend Villa's run of woe

ANY thought that Aston Villa might have got last season’s rubbishness well and truly out of their system has been soundly dismissed.

It’s one point out of a possible 15 for Villa since winning their opener at Bournemouth and it’s not even been that difficult a run of games.

Their next six Premier League games feature Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs and Man City so don’t be surprised if they’re in the bottom three by mid-November. Oh yeah, and out of the Capital One Cup as well.

Birmingham City are going to be the architects of Villa’s League Cup demise by winning at Villa Park.

Sherwood insists he’s going to pick a team who will be up for the fight, who know what a Birmingham-Villa derby is all about. Let’s see if the likes of Jordan Veretout and Jordan Ayew are on the same wavelength.
